THE PEPPER TREE BAND: ORIGINS
Formed in mid 2017 we envision a colourful world of music and poetry, with jangling guitars and some serious rock ‘n roll grooves . Made up of a passionate bunch of ordinary people who just love music, every member brings something complimenting to the music palette .
The band's recipe consist of the soulful vocal work of Alok Pathak, a solid groove from William Choi on the bass and Justin Lu on the drums topped with a generous helping of punchy electric guitars from Louis Lam .

ALOK PATHAK
Lead Vocalist/ Rhythm Guitarist
Bringing in the mix of Britpop and Alternative Rock and a hint of Indian Pop music, our frontman Alok takes charge of lead vocals, Rhythm guitars and co-songwriting duties. He has been an active musician since 2015, and has a solo Hindi/English album to his name. The album was featured in one of the hottest albums by neufutur magazine. Alok brings in his soulful voice, a happy attitude, and rock n roll frontman-ship to the biggest stages with Pepper Tree. Get in touch if you are a fan of Oasis/U2/Killers or Manchester City FC.
JUSTIN LU
Drummer
Justin is a music educator, producer and budding songwriter based in Singapore. He is experienced in Audio engineering and has produced various singles for local bands. He has been an active musician since early 2000 with his previous band. His music influences ranges from the Beatles, Oasis, Tomo Fujita, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Killers, ACDC, Red hot chilli peppers, No doubt, Earth Wind and Fire, Michael Jackson and BB King. In 2017 he launched his single "Perfect" on Youtube, Spotify and Itunes. Justin takes charge of the drums and co-songwriting duties in the band. His mandate is to ignite creativity in people's minds through music and to inspire generations through it.
WILLIAM CHOI
Bassist
William Choi is influenced by grunge rock and JRock music. He enjoys playing catchy bassline and looks forward to portraying the band's soundscape as fun and energetic. He is an eclectic band member and loves watching the audience groove to his bass lines. So put on your dancing shoes and let the sound of his bass hit you in the face.
LOUIS LAM
Lead guitarist/ Harmony vocals
Before Pepper Tree, Louis Lam has been an active part of the Singapore Blues Scene. He has led a 4 Piece outfit called the Chicken Shack Revival and was influenced by the Chicago blues scene of the 50s and 60s. He has performed regularly in the live music circuit locally and on festival stages. In his current role as lead guitarist in the Pepper Tree Band, he continues to tap on grooves and styles from different eras and origins and infuse them into the band's original music.
